Theresa Juanita Vidas

Theresa Juanita Vidas Theresa Vidas, 90, of West Palm Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on Feb. 3, 2019.
She was born to the late Harry and Alice Carstens, Sept. 4, 1928 in Maryville, Missouri, one of four children. Thres graduated from Centerville, Iowa High School, where she was an accomplished baton twirler and cheerleader, one of her most cherished memories.
She married the late Naval Captain Charles Vidas in 1950, and they lived together in Centerville, Iowa until 1982, when they relocated to Florida. Together they owned and operated a Napa Auto Parts store. Theresa also purchased and managed The Mode O'Day women's clothing store on the Centerville Square.
She is predeceased by two sons, Charles Michael Vidas, USAF Fighter Pilot and squadron leader at Lakenheath AFB, England, and Timothy Vidas, Centerville's youngest city councilman. Thres is survived by two children, Anne Rondeau of Wellington, Florida and Patrick Vidas of Vero Beach, Florida. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Chad Rondeau, Tim Vidas and Michael Vidas, as well as three great-grandchildren.
Thres was known for her wit and positive attitude. Always supportive and gracious, she campaigned tirelessly for son Tim's election and re-election. She devoted countless hours to fundraising and support of the Centerville High School band and sports. She enjoyed craftwork, and was an accomplished knitter, jewelry-maker and tole painter. Thres was immensely proud of her family and leaves behind many beautiful memories.
No ceremony is planned.

Condolences and prayers from the Hiatt Family, Centerville. I remember many happy times in the 15th Street neighborhood when I visited my grandparents!
